NEW 2015 Calendar / Jennifer Young Studio x Good on Paper

I'm beyond excited to share with you a fun collaboration I've been working on for the past couple of months -- a 2015 calendar I designed with super talented photographer Jennifer Young. This special limited edition calendar was inspired by Jennifer’s travels around the world and our love of clean, minimal design, coupled with hand lettering and copper foil printing. It is now available in an edition of 100 copies in my Shop as well as Jennifer's shop (she's got some amazing prints for sale). Each calendar is hand numbered on the front cover.

My Work: Card Set Collaboration with Sally J. Shim for Brika

I recently designed a card set in collaboration with blogger/designer/crafter/mama/author Sally J. Shim that is available exclusively for Brika in limited quantities. The cards are part of the Pretty Paper and Packages Gift Set which includes Sally's new book Pretty Packages (published by Chronicle Books), 1 'Thank You' stamp + 8 hand-lettered gift tags by Ampersanity, and my set of 3 cards with graphic patterns inspired by the book's cover.

It was so fun and easy collaborating with Sally (remember when Sally and her boys came to visit us in Berkeley this summer?). She is a crafter extraordinaire and magically turns any package into a beautiful gift. Way better than my wrap-gift-in-tissue-paper-throw-in-old-bag style! Lucas and I did the Hand Carved Stamp Wrapping Paper Project and we had so much fun! The book is chock-full of creative gift wrapping projects, many of which are kid-friendly which we loved. Recipe: S'mores Pot de Creme

Remember these yummy S'mores Pot de Creme party favors from Theo's 2nd birthday party? Well, it was a huge hit and I've received many requests for the recipe so I thought I would share it here. It's a genius concoction created by Andie at Bakin Bit for an Oh Happy Day Craft Night. The only credit I take is designing the packaging and asking Andie to make them for our party. :) Enjoy!

APT CB2 - The first real apartment designed live on Pinterest

My friend Mark Aver, a creative director at Mother New York, just gave me a heads up about a seriously rad project he's been working on for CB2 called APT CB2. It's basically an experiment where an apartment in NYC would be designed entirely on Pinterest. Five popular designers (like one of my faves, Justina Blakeney) on Pinterest would help decorate each room with items from the store and then Pinterest users would vote or "like" their selections. The ones with the most "likes" would then be delivered to the apartment and built in real time. Seriously, how cool is that? Awesome, Mark!

From Wednesday, May 7th to Friday, May 11th help design the first real apartment live on Pinterest by liking your favorite Pins, and have a chance to win your dream room worth $5,000!  Check out the video here.

My Work: Wedding Stationery on Style Me Pretty

Throughout the year I design numerous custom wedding invitations for various clients and many times I never get to see all the pretty details of the special day. So when I see a gallery of gorgeous images from a wedding where I was the stationery designer, I get super excited. Shot by the amazing Lisa Lefkowitz (of course!), designed and styled by the awesome Gloria Wong, and planned by the talented Jubilee Lau, no detail was spared. Favorites: Umami Mart

I can't believe it has taken me this long to visit Umami Mart. I mean, it's conveniently located two blocks from my work office and I even pass by it nearly every Friday when I go to the Old Oakland farmer's market. I finally made a visit and I was floored. It's expertly curated with a variety of kitchenware, Asian snacks, barware, Hasami porcelain, local/artisanal goods, Japanese magazines, and art prints, all of which I wanted to buy on the spot. The displays even made me want to buy Pocky Sticks, something I could just as easily get across the street at Oakland Chinatown. What I loved most about the space was the clean, Japanese/Scandanavian aesthetic mixed with a little industrial brick.
